

We take our roles as mentors and teachers in your child’s life very seriously. We provide a safe and child-centered environment to encourage our students to explore dance with qualified, nurturing teachers. The Grayslake Park District’s Expressions Dance Studio is committed to providing high-quality dance classes to enhance the overall development of the child. PLEASE do not bring your child to class if they have any symptoms of illness (fever, cold or flu like symptoms, runny nose or cough), staff will kindly ask you to bring them home. Our number one priority is being able to get our students back in the studio safely. We will be constantly re-evaluating these policies and procedures in accordance with current regulations an mandates. The instructor will meet you at the door to welcome students in and to release them. If your child’s class begins or ends after 5pm, this door will likely be locked during our classes.


Bathrooms should only be used for emergency purposes, PLEASE have your dancer go before heading out for class.High touch surfaces will be cleaned after each class.Bring your own water bottle – the water fountain will be closed.Dancers must come dressed for class as there will not be a changing area available.

Dancers will be given “mask breaks” and water breaks, as necessary. Masks will be required for the duration of class.Spaces at the barre and center floor will be assigned to maintain social distancing.All persons entering the building are to wear a mask.Hand sanitizer required upon entering the building and upon exiting class.Class enrollment has been reduced/limited based upon studio size.The following safety measures are in place: We have taken this into consideration as we planned our class procedures. To register for Dance Expressions, please contact CCD at either 303.466.5685 or email read our Health & Safety Protocols Amended and complete our 2021-2022 Season Health & Safety Waiver and turn in before taking any classes in-person beginning August 1, 2021. Gala information is distributed in January. Dance Expressions is appropriate for ages 6+.Įach year students will prepare a dance to be performed at CCD’s annual Gala Performance. Classes are taught by Heather Sutton – registered dance/movement therapist with degrees in Special Physical Education & Motor Development and Somatic Counseling Psychotherapy.Įach 30-45 minute class is targeted based on age and ability, as determined by the instructor. Students will gain increased body awareness, develop fundamental motor skills, improve self-esteem, concentration and focus, and have fun expressing themselves creatively. Students are given the tools for a successful exploration of dance while being in a safe environment.
